Ground Worker Instruction
Have you ever considered a career in the tree care profession?  As with many
professions, tree services most often require previous experience, and it is
becoming increasingly difficult to find a company willing to train inexperienced
personnel.  Kittatinny Tree Service provides both practical Ground Worker
instruction and Tree Climber basic instruction.  

Ground Worker instruction includes the following:
  • Overview of tree care profession
  • Overview of tree care operations
  • Worksite safety
  • Knot tying and rope handling instruction
  • Chainsaw use and safety
  • Use of ground rigging equipment
  • Chipper use and safety
  • Familiarity of basic tree care tools, terminology and equipment

With the above knowledge and practical instruction, the trainee will acquire the
skills necessary to gain employment in the tree care industry.
Tree Climber instruction includes:
  • Overview of tree climbing equipment
  • Familiarity of tree care operations
  • Instruction of standard tree care practices
  • Knot tying and rope handling instruction
  • Explanation of basic tree care tools, terminology and equipment
  • Demonstration and instruction on rope ascent and rappelling

The Tree Climber instruction is recommended for individuals experienced in
ground operations and who possess good command of chainsaw operation.  No
instruction of chainsaw operation while climbing shall be provided.  The above
knowledge and practical instruction will permit the trainee with the skills needed
to prune smaller trees safely without the use of leg spikes.
